About This Product

■Summary

A composite material of SiC (silicon carbide) and aluminum. It has particularly high mechanical strength (especially stiffness/Young's modulus) and has a density as light as aluminum, so it has very high specific stiffness (lightweight and high stiffness).

■Features

Compared to aluminum (a5052), it has high rigidity with Young's modulus 1.8 times, thermal expansion is reduced to 2/3, and thermal conductivity is also improved. ・Compared to cast iron (FC250), specific rigidity is 2.8 times higher and thermal conductivity is 3 times higher. ・Suppresses deformation and distortion caused by thermal expansion differences ・Thermal expansion coefficient close to that of stainless steel and carbon steel ・Low thermal expansion, less likely to spread than aluminum, high thermal conductivity, dissipates heat better than cast iron ・Can also be sold as ingots and lost wax
