About This Product

■Excellent SfM software PIX4Dmapper

PIX4Dmapper uses SfM technology to process a large amount of aerial images and flight logs taken by UAVs (drones) at high speed. This is software that can automatically create surface models), point clouds (point clouds = collection of 3D coordinates), etc. PIX4D is a Swiss manufacturer, but it supports multiple languages ​​and also has a Japanese version. Because it has a wide variety of output formats, it is used not only in the surveying, civil engineering, and construction industries, but also in the agricultural and disaster prevention fields, and is used by many people.

■About SfM

SfM is an abbreviation for Structure from Motion, and is an image processing technology that restores the three-dimensional shape (3D) of an object based on multiple photographs taken from different positions of the object, such as from a drone or from the ground. The common feature points in each photo are taken as a reference, and the position and shape are identified and modeled. In recent years, technological developments in cameras and software have progressed, and their accuracy and analysis techniques have improved significantly.
