About This Product

DF LAT (DeepForest LiDAR Analysis Tool) is software that generates data for forest analysis, such as detailed topographic maps and tree canopy height data, from point cloud data acquired with a drone-mounted laser. DF LAT detects the ground and vegetation from LAS files (.las) of laser data, and extracts digital terrain models (DTM, Digital Terrain Model), digital surface models (DSM, Digital Surface Model), and canopy height models (CHM, Canopy). Height Model) is automatically created with a resolution of 5cm. This makes it possible to obtain high-resolution topographical maps that capture working roads and microtopography within the forest, as well as high-resolution canopy height models that can identify individual trees. The created data is input into the forest analysis software DF Scanner, making it possible to detect each individual tree, identify the tree species, and highly accurately estimate the height and volume of each individual tree. Normally, a model based on aircraft laser surveying has a resolution of 50 cm, but the combination of a laser drone and DF LAT can obtain 3D data with a resolution of 5 cm. This makes it possible to obtain high-resolution topographical maps that capture working roads and microtopography within the forest, as well as high-resolution canopy height models that can identify individual trees. It is also possible to display a cross-sectional view at any position, and manually filter out noise that could not be removed by automatic processing. By using the created data in conjunction with the forest analysis software DF Scanner, it becomes possible to detect individual trees, identify tree species, and estimate the height and volume of each individual tree. You can also apply for J Credit by meeting the measurement requirements.
