About This Product

■Summary

・A new generation of anti-corrosion and sealing paint that eliminates rust and seals off harmful substances. ・Penetrates to the root of rust and completely seals rust holes ・Ideal for surface treatment (sealing) of slate roofs containing asbestos

■Features

Last Guard is a one-component moisture-curing polyurethane resin anti-corrosion/sealing paint. It can be used not only as a rust preventive primer but also as a top coat.

■Rust prevention ability

It penetrates to the root of the rust and expands in the rust pores, preventing rust from recurring. Since it can be applied directly to rusty substrates, the cost of preparing the surface can be significantly reduced.

■Blocking power

Seals ecologically hazardous substances including asbestos (US patent). Ideal for surface treatment of asbestos-containing slate that is difficult to clean and wash with water.

■Excellent penetration and rust prevention performance

Designed to adhere tightly to rusted metal surfaces, it moistens the surface of the rust and penetrates to the root of the rust where hardening begins. The polymer fills the numerous pores on the surface and as it begins to harden, it expands and becomes tightly bound.

■Tough coating film

When it reacts with moisture in the atmosphere and hardens, it firmly bonds to the base, increasing its adhesion over time.

■Proof of adhesion

Northern ships had the problem of the coating on the hull peeling off when the seawater freezes and the ice is removed with a hammer. However, when we applied ``Last Guard'' to the hull, even if the ice was removed with a hammer, the coating on the hull would peel off. The guard coating remained intact on the hull.

■Proof of wear resistance and impact resistance

The U.S. Navy had a problem with the paint on the flight deck peeling off and rusting due to the impact of the wheels of airplanes landing, but after painting it with "Last Guard," the paint no longer peeled off.

■ Last Guard seals asbestos and is perfect for strengthening brittle slate.

Rust Guard can be painted directly onto slate with simple surface preparation. Last Guard, which has excellent penetrating power, penetrates deep into the slate material, expands and hardens, completely sealing off asbestos and restoring the strength of deteriorated slate.

■Obtained a US patent as a sequestering material for ecologically hazardous substances

・Patent number 5695812 ・Sequestration material for ecologically hazardous substances including lead-based paint and asbestos ・Sealing material certification test ASTM E 1795 ・Officially certified by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (D/L Testing Laboratory)

Rust-free iron plate, as a primer: dry film thickness 65μ, coating amount 140g/m2, coating area 150m2/can
Rusty iron plate/wood: Dry film thickness 100μ, coating amount 230g/m2, coating area 90m2/can

After curing, the coating forms a hard and strong protective film that exhibits excellent resistance.

As a result of chemical resistance testing (ASTM D 1308), it was proven that there were no abnormalities in the following four categories: ``blister'', ``wrinkle'', ``cracking'', and ``24-hour hardness change''.

It has strong resistance to chemicals and acidic liquids, making it highly valued in oil plants and industrial areas.

In window opening/closing tests, there was no deterioration, frictional combustion, or dust generation even after 20,000 openings and closings.

It has been proven that there were no abnormalities in the friction resistance test (ASTM D 2486) over 2,500 times.

Stir at low speed using an electric stirrer. Continue stirring until the mixture is completely even from the bottom.

Officially certified by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (D/L Testing Laboratory)
