About This Product
A material widely used for sound absorption materials, insulation materials, packing materials, sealing materials, etc. This material has a fused film formed on its surface, making it relatively easy to remove oil, dirt, rainwater, etc.
■Characteristics of Meltom-processed sound absorbing sheets and soundproofing sheets
Meltom-processed urethane sheets are made by pressing the surface of a sponge with a hot plate or hot roll to form a molten film on the surface. Generally, this material is widely used for sound absorption materials, insulation materials, packing materials, sealing materials, etc. By forming a film on the surface, it is weather resistant, water and oil repellent, and has tensile strength, so it is relatively easy to remove even in areas exposed to oil, dirt, rainwater, etc.
As you can see in the photo, the surface looks like a glossy embossed surface, but it feels like a rubber sponge with a non-slip feel. We sell F-4LF sound absorbing material as a similar processed product, but since the density of the base material is higher than this material, it has better sound insulation performance than other sponges.
■Applications as soundproofing and sound absorbing materials
Although it is a fused film that is water and oil repellent, does it actually absorb sound?In fact, it has enough air permeability to ensure sound absorption performance. The surface coating is not a complete coating or waterproof, but it is a coating with fine pores, so it functions as a sound absorbing and soundproofing material by absorbing the vibrational energy of air molecules as sound. There are holes that allow air molecules and other gases to pass through, but the surface treatment is such that liquid water and oil cannot pass through. Water-resistant and waterproof car deadening (inside tire houses and doors, etc.) that must be used against oil, dust, and rainwater, sound-absorbing materials for outdoor units, and weather-resistant soundproofing and sound-absorbing materials for clean rooms. It can be used as part of a wall, or as part of a sound-absorbing material for walls that suppress reflected sound in stores, restaurants, etc.
