Corrosion under insulation (CUI), scab corrosion and loose rust, flow accelerated corrosion (FAC), corrosion under refractory materials, and corrosion under coatings are among the most common problems in facility health assessments in industry. This is considered to be a major issue. Measuring residual wall thickness during lift-off without disassembling the insulation has many limitations, and past pulsed eddy current (PEC) testing methods are based on outdated technology. We propose a new form of corrosion inspection.
