Special base paint for metals, dedicated to magnesium alloys, high performance, 1-component baking primer, Panaco SMG
Musashi Paint Co., Ltd.

About This Product

■Summary

Magnesium alloys are widely used in electronic devices such as notebook computers and mobile phone casings due to their material properties (thinness and strength). However, there are many material defects such as ``welds'' and ``holes'' during molding, which deteriorate the appearance after painting. Panaco SMG is a primer specifically designed for high-performance baking type magnesium alloys that addresses these material defects specific to magnesium alloy molded products.

■Features

・Excellent concealment and smoothness ・Effect of suppressing foaming from the material ・Excellent adhesion to various chemical conversion coatings and magnesium alloy substrates ・Excellent interlayer adhesion with various top coat paints ・Color variations

■Recommended thinner

thinner ・Z-2851 Panaco MG quick-drying thinner (quick-drying type) ・Z-2854 Panaco MG thinner (standard type) ・Z-2855 Panaco MG thinner (slow drying type) ・Z-29954 Panaco MG cleaning thinner

■Applicable materials

・Chemical conversion treated magnesium alloy (AZ91D) ・SPCC-SB polished steel plate ・SPCC-SB Zinc phosphate treated steel sheet ・Aluminum (A1050P) ・Aluminum alloy (A5052P) ・Stainless steel (SUS-304) ・Galvanized iron plate ·brass ・Nickel chrome plating

■Precautions for use

- If foreign substances such as mold release agents adhere to the material, it may cause poor adhesion or repellency, so please wash it before painting. ・Panaco SMG may have problems with solubility when using other than the dedicated thinner, so please use the dedicated thinner to dilute the paint, and use the dedicated thinner or cleaning thinner (Z-29954) to clean the paint sprayer. . - When polishing materials or coatings, using abrasive paper coated with stearate, etc. may cause poor adhesion, so use abrasive paper that does not contain such additives. Please use it. - When magnesium alloy comes into contact with dissimilar metals (iron, etc.), its corrosion resistance decreases significantly. Therefore, when polishing materials, please do not use abrasive paper together with other metals, but use special abrasive paper. - Various grades of materials are available, and their properties may differ from the original, so please check before using.
