■Issues related to data center cooling

The key to building and operating a highly efficient data center is ensuring each server rack receives the necessary and sufficient amount of cooling airflow. When considering the cooling airflow for each rack in the machine room, the excess airflow from the empty spaces that are not installed causes air conditioning loss, resulting in a lack of cooling airflow overall. PlenaFill (blanking panel for 19 inches and 23 inches) can improve the cooling situation by blocking that path. In addition, by using PlenaForm (underfloor air conditioning route shielding panel), it is possible to create a smooth underfloor air conditioning route. Cooling measures for data centers can be implemented at low cost.

■ Effective results from simulation

PlenaForm Systems is an effective product for improving airflow based on the analysis results of thermal analysis simulation TileFlow.

■PlenaFill and PlenaForm special materials

The material is Formex GK-40 (inert polypropylene compound), US UL94 standard V-0 (flammability standard), RoHS2 directive compliant, high voltage insulation, and condensation resistant. The material is easy to work with and can be cut with scissors. The product has perforations so that it can be cut by hand. Installation under the floor is easy, and no special tools are required. Connection installation is done with snap rivets. ■PlenaForm–baffle system

Vertical and horizontal cutting lines allow for easy processing into any shape on site. By actively controlling the cold air transport path under the floor, it is possible to supply the required amount of air according to the amount of heat generated by the server rack to the necessary areas without excess or deficiency. It can be used not only under the floor but also as an airflow control member in various locations on the floor. Connections between PlenaForms are performed using the included PF-RR rivets. It is made of the same flexible material as PlenaFill, so you can cut it freely with scissors. Easy on-site construction for complex shapes such as cable ducts and sensors.
