About This Product

Sometimes the laser is not immediately subjected to processing work and is operated at full load (service, special operating mode). In this case, more than 99% of the laser must be absorbed. For this reason, PRIMES offers a wide variety of absorbers. A similar problem arises in laser material processing systems where the machining process cannot fully absorb the laser light or where the laser must be "collected" (e.g. during product changeovers). PRIMES absorbers can be used as beam dumps in such cases. Since lasers are almost completely absorbed in beam diagnostics (other than power measurements), there are various solutions. They may be integrated into diagnostic systems or used as additional components to ensure the safety of people and machinery. OEM absorbers are water-cooled. Flow rate and water temperature must be monitored externally. Monitoring of high output power absorbers is always part of the safety circuit within the laser or laser system.
