About This Product

EXRADIN's excellent performance has been highly evaluated around the world. EXRADIN ion chambers have been around for over 35 years and are now recognized by leading research institutes and standards testing bodies and have a worldwide reputation for integrity and excellence. Introduced by Standard Imaging in 2000, the EXRADIN series maintains the same high quality standards and continues its tradition of rigorous precision. Excellent performance and versatile design

■Reliability and durability

EXRADIN construction materials are more robust and durable than PMMA chambers, making them suitable for routine measurements. It is highly conductive, eliminating the need for conductive coatings that can easily peel off and require careful handling, as found in other chambers. Uniquely waterproof for use with water phantoms, almost all EXRADIN ion chambers do not require waterproof caps or protective coatings. The EXRADIN A12 ion chamber is rigid enough to withstand a drop from a height of 1 meter onto a hard floor.

■Stability

Optimal electrode design ensures a uniform collection volume, resulting in stable and reproducible signals. EXRADIN chambers become electrically stable in an extremely short time compared to other ion chambers. All parallel plate chambers have wide guard rings to eliminate disturbance effects of the electron fluence.

■Accuracy due to appropriate and theoretical design

The guard electrode determines the collection volume. The axisymmetric design with appropriate electrode design ensures a uniform isotropic response. Collection efficiency is over 99.9%. The chamber cavity opens to the outside at the electrometer connector via a triaxial cable tube, making it suitable for use underwater or in plastic phantoms. Almost all EXRADIN chambers can apply up to 1,000V. Most EXRADIN chambers are made from the same material. The collector, guard and shell are constructed from A150 tissue equivalent plastic or C552 air equivalent plastic conductive material. This material was developed by Dr.Francis Shonka.
