About This Product

■Resin for sample analysis manufactured by KULZER in Germany Technovit® 6091

Technovit6091 is a fast-curing MMA (methyl methacrylate) resin. Thanks to the special material combination, the resin already has a homogeneous viscosity after a few minutes of the mixing process and can then be immediately applied to the hoof and wooden blocks and modeled into the desired shape. Depending on the outside temperature, it will completely harden after 4 to 6 minutes, and after cooling, it will have the ability to support the weight of a cow.

■Features

The maximum curing temperature is 86℃, and because the thermal conductivity of the nail corners is very low, the temperature to the dermis does not exceed 39℃.

■How to use Technovit6091

If only one of the two hooves is affected, medical treatment is required. If corrective cutting of the affected nail is not possible, use Technovit 6091 to glue a block of wood to a healthy nail that can withstand the pressure. Raising the height of a healthy claw can reduce pressure on the diseased hoof, and this reduced pressure leads to normal movement of the cow and speeds recovery. Cows get used to wooden blocks very quickly and, after treatment, can practically walk, even in a state of severe lameness. In this way, they can be incorporated into a herd of cattle, which is especially useful when kept in barns or pastures.
