About This Product
Unlike conventional connectors, this connector was born from an idea that takes advantage of the inherent properties of glass fiber. The end face of the silica optical fiber is cleaved to create an open wall, and the fiber is bent and connected. The flex of the fiber ensures the connection.
This technology has been known for a long time, but it can be said that it has become possible to put it into practical use only in the era of fiber access (FTTH), which does not require strict splice losses of 0.2 dB or less.
■Features
・No polishing, no adhesive, no tools required, on-site assembly and easy connection.
・For checking continuity when optical fiber is missing, pending loss, and multi-channel during FTTH construction.
- Convenient for removal work and troubleshooting.
- Helps reduce inspection time for passive/active optical devices.
-Can be connected to a regular SC using an adapter (JJ).
・No need for gluing, polishing, machinery, etc. Connection can be made with only simple tools.
-Can be connected to SC and FC connectors using a commercially available SC/FC adapter.
- By using matching gel (refractive index matching agent), optical properties comparable to polished connectors can be obtained.
