■What is SIMetrix/SIMPLIS?SIMPLIS is an acronym for "SIMulation for Piecewise LInear System" and is a circuit simulator optimized for the design and development of power electronic circuits and systems. SIMetrix/SIMPLIS combines the SIMetrix environment with the innovative simulator SIMPLIS.

The conventional SIMetrix SPICE simulator is also included in the same frame, so by utilizing both, you can create innovative simulations.

Features
■Calculate 10 to 50 times faster than SPICELike SPICE, SIMPLIS is a component-level simulator, but it simulates power switching circuits approximately 10 to 50 times faster.

■Periodic Operating Point (POP) analysisPOP analysis quickly finds the steady-state operating point of switching without simulating starting conditions for a transient analysis. This dramatically speeds up the process of investigating load effects in transient analysis.

■Small signal AC analysisUnlike the static method used in SPICE, this analysis mode allows you to emulate frequency sweep measurements as if you were making them in real hardware. There is no need to derive an average model as with SPICE, and you can create plots of gain and phase that are not possible with SPICE.

■Advanced digital simulatorThe Advanced Digital Simulator Library provides a wide range of digital functions to simplify your simulation work. Compared to previous versions of SIMPLIS, simulation speed is improved by approximately 10-20 times for standard digital gate simulations.

■Design verification moduleThe Design Verification Module (DVM) allows you to automatically run a series of tests, compare measurement results to design performance specifications, and create a test report that clearly summarizes the circuit performance of your switching power supply.
