■Equipment configuration of batch type cleaning machine, what is batch cleaning?
At our company, we call the process of loading and cleaning multiple workpieces into one tank as batch cleaning. Batch-type washing machines have both a washing chamber and a draining chamber. Spray cleaning and air blowing are performed on the workpiece to be cleaned in the same room.
The cleaning tank uses a filter to remove debris and reuses the water for cleaning. For customers with a high oil content, we will install an oil skimmer or oil/water separator to purify the liquid.
■Advantages and disadvantages of using batch-type cleaning machines
The advantages of batch-type cleaning machines are that they require less installation space and are lower in cost. A compact cleaning process can be created by using both the washing room and draining room, and choosing a minimum configuration for the liquid filtration device. Additionally, since the loading and unloading ports are the same, the process is easier to assemble when creating a manual rotation line.
Workpieces to be cleaned that have strict standards for residual oil and contamination require multi-tank cleaning, which cannot be done with batch-type cleaning machines. The fact that the draining process is located inside the washing room is also a disadvantage. If dryness is required, consideration must be given, such as considering a separate process.
■Types of batch-type cleaning machines and their ease of use
If the workpiece is heavy or if the workpiece is loaded and unloaded using a robot, etc., a loading/unloading station is required, so it is more convenient to pull out the table on which the workpiece is set from the washing machine. In addition, when workers are taking turns repeatedly putting on and taking off workpieces, a type that closes the shutter on the spot without pulling out the table will shorten the takt time and reduce the installation space.
■About batch-type cleaning machines and cleaning agents used
As a cleaning solution, alkaline electrolyzed ionized water obtained by electrolyzing water may be used, or alkaline detergent or other cleaning agent may be used. When using cleaning agents, care must be taken when selecting them. Broadly speaking, there are cleaning agents for immersion cleaning and spray cleaning.Most of the cleaning agents for immersion cleaning have foaming properties.
There is no problem in using it for immersion cleaning, but if you use it in a batch type cleaning machine, the equipment will malfunction due to the effects of foaming, so it cannot be used. If you use a spray-type cleaning machine, you need to choose a cleaning agent that is suitable for spray cleaning.
