About This Product

Gas springs with locking function are also called gas dampers or gas pressure dampers. The ergonomic design helps you achieve comfort, allowing you to comfortably and safely change the position of your seat or bed, operate the machine cover effortlessly and precisely, and more. Used in many applications. SUSPA locking gas springs allow variable locking of any piston position, whether elastic (“spring”) or rigid. Special features unique to our company offer particular benefits in terms of comfort and operability. A variety of mounting points and release mechanisms complete our product range, ensuring you have the right locking gas spring for any application.

■What is a gas spring with lock function?

The gas spring with locking function is a hydropneumatic adjustment member.

■Structure of gas spring with lock function

A locking gas spring consists of a pressure tube, a piston rod and a piston, and a valve controlled by a release pin.

■Stretching force of gas spring with lock function

When the valve opens, the gas spring takes on most of the gravity, and the extension force supports the user's application adjustment. When the valve closes, the gas spring locks, locking the application in the desired position. Depending on the structure, locks can be elastic or rigid. A locked gas spring is filled only with nitrogen, so when using an elastic lock, this spring behaves like a spring in both the pulling and pushing directions. In the case of rigid locks, the locked gas spring locks in both the pull and push directions. This is achieved by having a specific oil chamber in which the piston moves. Depending on the arrangement of the chambers, the locking force in the pull and push directions will be maximum.
