With the help of a beam switch, up to six different process fibers can be fed into one laser system and placed individually at a station or work cell on the production floor. Laser power can be delivered to the entire application area without the need to change processing heads or remove and replace process fibers when changing robots. In timeshare mode, only one workstation uses the laser during a specified period of time. In energy sharing mode, the beam switch acts as a beam splitter and two or more workstations receive laser output simultaneously. This option allows one laser to perform multiple operations simultaneously.
