About This Product

IPG's C-guns, pickers and handheld system steppers are used in combination with clamps and laser welding tools (up to 4kW) to replace resistance spot welding. Features include adjustable clamping force up to 3kN, improved workpiece strength and stiffness, increased processing speed and no need for costly laser safety cabinets. The laser seam stepper welds laser wobble seams up to 40mm in half the traditional cycle time and can also be used for a variety of materials, including thermoforming materials. C-gun and picker laser seam steppers with online monitoring, beam switch or interlock power safety system are compatible with Class 1 laser equipment. (Interlocking guards must ensure a minimum safe distance of 1 meter). Weld seams can be created manually using IPG's LSS-3 handheld laser seam stepper. Designed for applications such as prototyping, low-volume production, and body repair where frequent parameter changes and manual control are required. The LSS-3 seam stepper combines a clamp and laser welding tool in a compact head with up to 3kN of clamping action and up to 4kW of laser power. LSS-3 can be used as a replacement for resistance spot welding in a variety of materials, with adjustable clamping force, improved workpiece strength and stiffness, increased processing speed, significantly reduced flange size, and minimal effort. Advantages include clamping. LSS-3 can create laser welded seams up to 4cm.
