- Screens for deep wells can be designed with opening widths that match the geological strata, and by using a ring-based screen with a high opening ratio and high strength, efficient and stable well drilling is possible.

■HiSIS97% of the water on Earth is seawater. In other words, only 3% is fresh water. However, global water shortages are becoming a major problem in the future. Therefore, there is a need to resolve water shortages through seawater desalination. Currently, the membrane method (RO membrane method) is the mainstream method for seawater desalination, but it can only desalinate max. 50%. As a result, desalination plants are becoming larger and larger, and the associated costs are also enormous. Nagaoka has developed an innovative seawater intake system by applying its core technology, Nagaoka Screen. That is the "high-speed seabed infiltration water intake system HISIS". By applying HISIS technology, it is possible to significantly reduce the cost of seawater desalination plants.
