About This Product

■High-performance tool that searches for geometric patterns under harsh conditions

Pattern matching is a manufacturer's most powerful tool for locating and inspecting parts. However, pattern matching can be quite difficult to match when there are many variations in the way objects are imaged by the vision system. Cognex pattern matching tools use patented geometric pattern matching technology to reliably and accurately find patterns regardless of rotation, scale, or lighting conditions.

■Features

The most advanced feature location technologies employ geometric pattern matching to register the shape of an object using bounding curves that are not associated with a pixel grid. This method accurately detects objects regardless of changes in angle, size, and illumination, independent of gray level. However, this method is not practical if the provided geometric data is insufficient. SearchMax uses color features to search for objects when the available geometric data is not suitable.

■SearchMax is suitable for the following processing.

・Gray level image using small model ・Images with many features that are difficult to process with PatMax ・Objects that cannot be segmented well due to color changes ・Distorted object
