About This Product

A pioneering collection of creative tiles that emphasize design, from modern pop art expressions to traditional Mino ware Japanese patterns.

A total of 60 tastefully colored traditional patterns of Mino ware are painted using the underglaze copperplate transfer technique.

Mino ware, which has a history of over 1,300 years, is so diverse in colors and shapes that it is said to be characterized by its lack of distinctive features. This product is a traditional Mino ware glaze, ``Oribe'' and ``Kiseto'', with pigments applied to it using the underglaze copperplate transfer technique. The copperplate transfer technique is a technique perfected in Mino in 1889, in which a thin Japanese paper with a pattern printed with coloring material is pasted onto the substrate using water, and the Japanese paper is peeled off. I will paint.

You can express hand-painted shading and delicate patterns, and you can also print patterns on the sides and curves. Because each piece is made by hand, there may be differences in the finished shape, color irregularities, and unevenness in the painting, as well as intrusions that look like small cracks on the glaze surface, and pinholes. It has an expression unique to pottery glaze.
