About This Product

Suitable for pipe welding of thin metal tapes up to 0.05mm (φ1mm to 150mm) for medical, automotive, and optical fiber applications that require precision molding and welding. OPGW's specialized production line is equipped with a precision tension-controlled multi-fiber payoff station, and is well known for its equipment and wide range of contract manufacturing services. This is a complete line for precision molding and welding of FIST (metal tubes containing optical fibers), and concentrating optical fibers and metal tapes through continuous, non-stop operation of submarine optical fiber cables. Product features

■Advantages and handling of optical fiber

Fiber optic payoff station with minimal traction, tension control and smooth fiber deflection unit. Own or customer custom made units. A fiber jelly supply unit with jelly supply rate control is available.

■Metal roll forming

Manufactured in-house, precision roll forming tools are designed using FEA simulation to minimize stress and distortion, avoid surface damage, and achieve process stability. The use of high-quality materials ensures a long tool life. Quick-change carrier systems offer the benefits of reduced set-up time and operational excellence.

■Welding

High quality laser welding using a unique seam tracking system. Laser power and beam quality are tuned and configured to best suit your application. THE automatic inline laser rewelding unit is available to ensure product integrity of very long cables (e.g. submarine cables) during stop/restart operations.

■Quality control

In-line continuous non-destructive weld seam and tube quality control system with ICO (internal crack observer) and ECC eddy current measurement for in-line monitoring and measurement of all geometric parameters.

■Drawdown and OL/EFL unit

The downstream process is finely controlled to ensure that the optical fiber is not damaged during forming and welding, and if necessary, the subsequent excess fiber length OL/EFL is finely controlled and measured in draw stations and SSL (overlength) units. The finished product can be further tested using an offline OL/EFL test unit. others
