About This Product

The full-band dummy head measurement system HMS II.3-LN is especially suitable for low-noise measurements of sound sources near the ear. Equipped with a high-sensitivity microphone, the artificial ear features extremely low solid-state noise (16 dBSPL (A)). The HMS II.3-LN is ideal for evaluating the quality of active noise cancellation (ANC) headsets, headphones, and other near-ear audio and communication devices. In addition to ultra-low solid-state noise, HMS II.3-LN features a wide dynamic range capable of measuring sound pressure levels up to 148 dBSPL. These two features make HMS II.3-LN ideal for both low and high level measurements. As a result, it is possible to measure devices that are used away from the ear, such as hands-free systems and smart speakers. The dummy head realistically reproduces all structures related to human body acoustics. HMS II.3-LN is capable of measuring both transmit and receive directions. A low-noise impedance simulator in the right artificial ear simulates the receiving direction, while a 2-way mouth speaker reproduces the full spectrum of the human voice. This allows narrowband, wideband, super wideband, and fullband measurements. Equipped with a pseudo ear, HMS II.3-LN is capable of creating voice and audio recording data that is faithful to the sense of hearing for evaluation using the measurement and analysis software ACQUA. HMS II.3 LN features a newly introduced module concept. This concept is common to all HEAD acoustics dummy heads in the call and audio test field. In the future, the same dummy head will be able to handle different applications. Quickly and easily replace the artificial ear and pinna to suit the measurement task.
