■Seamlessly connect CT scanners to volume graphics software productsVolume Graphics partners can connect their computed tomography (CT) systems directly to our software using the free interface tool VGPROJECT SDK. The VGPROJECT SDK allows you to easily develop applications that store parameters and metadata describing scanned objects in .vgl files, even during scanning.

The integration effort is low and the benefits are enormous: when saving CT data in .vgl format, it corresponds to the de facto standard for industrial CT data.

■.vgl: Provides more functionality than filesIn .vgl files, metadata and scan parameters are linked to the image data. Once created, both volume or projection data can be read and meta information written in the VG application without any additional manual steps. .vgl files not only combine all the relevant information, but also support certain Windows features to make your daily tasks easier.

For example, you can preview the file contents of .vgl files in Windows Explorer and search for metadata.

■.vgl files are just the beginningThe .vgl file contains references to the images from the scanner and reconstruction parameters, so the data can be easily reconstructed when opening the .vgl file. Analysis can begin immediately after reconstruction. The VGPROJECT SDK allows you to create a communication interface and programmatically initiate the relevant reconstruction process in a suitable volume graphics application. The result is a .vgl file that references the volume data and can be opened immediately without further reconfiguration.

You can also enable custom data processing and directly access the reconstructed data in your own applications.
