About This Product

By using a non-coherent laser light source for the light source, it is possible to take clean and clear images without interference fringes, despite the fact that it is a laser schlieren. The shortest pulse width is 20ns, allowing sharp images of high-speed phenomena. The maximum repetitive emission frequency is 1MHz, and the system must be operated in synchronization with a high-speed camera. By performing Schlieren photography with an extremely short flash duration, it is now possible to visualize ultra-high-speed phenomena that were previously impossible to visualize. Since it emits pulse oscillation, it has less effect on the object being illuminated and the imaging area than a continuous light source, and because it can shoot at high output, it is also possible to cut deeper into the knife edge than ever before.

■Visualization of gas and liquid flows that are invisible to the eye, such as shock waves, thermal fluids, and ultrasonic waves

Heterogeneous conditions in transparent gases, liquids, and solids create density gradients that bend the passing light. This is a device that converts this slight change in refractive index into a large difference in brightness and darkness. Because the optical axis adjustment is simple, it is easier to use than existing Schlieren devices. Also, there is no need to worry about the installation location. The optical system that determines the observation space can be adjusted by sliding, allowing it to be expanded as desired. It can also be installed by removing it from the main unit (optional).

■Applications

・Aerodynamics research, visualization of shock waves, etc. in supersonic wind tunnels ・Thermofluid research, observation of combustion and explosion phenomena (research on engines, etc.) ・Underwater ultrasound observation ・Visualization of the flow of welding gases such as argon and helium ・Verify leakage status with product leak test ・Quality inspection of acrylic and polycarbonate

■Principle of Schlieren device

The light from a point light source is converted into a parallel beam using an optical system, and after passing through the observation space, the beam is focused again. The focal point is blocked by a knife edge. If there is an unevenness in the refractive index in the observation space, the light will be distorted and the focus will shift, so the unevenness blocked by the knife edge will become clearly visible. This allows the density distribution of the object to be measured to be observed as a contrast between light and dark. application

■Welding shield gas

You can suppress the arc light emission and observe the flow of shielding gas during welding.

■Underwater ultrasound

It is also possible to visualize minute density changes caused by underwater ultrasound.

■Cylinder combustion wave

Using a high-speed camera, it is also possible to visualize the fast transient phenomena of compression and expansion waves associated with combustion. others
