About This Product

SDT200 is an ultrasonic leak tester developed by SDT in Belgium. By detecting ultrasonic waves generated in various equipment or artificially generated ultrasonic waves, it is possible to check for equipment abnormalities and wear and tear, as well as the airtightness of products.

■Display volume in dB

Not only can you hear the detected ultrasound as an audible sound, but the maximum strength is displayed in dB on the main unit. This allows us to quantify the maximum volume of the ultrasonic waves being received and perform quantitative evaluation.

■Sensors can be used depending on the purpose

Ultrasonic sensors are available in contact types, movable types, magnetic types, etc. depending on the application. You can also measure rotation and temperature. (Optional)

■Inspection of airtightness using a transmitter

An ultrasonic transmitter is placed in a closed space and ultrasonic waves are detected from the outside. If there is a seal failure in an opening or a crack in a partition wall, ultrasonic waves will leak to the outside through the gap, making it possible to investigate the location.

■Test principle

It can detect ultrasound waves between 36.7 and 40.7kHz and convert them into audible sounds. Ultrasound is a sound wave that is above the human hearing range (20kHz). To detect ultrasound, you need to use a device like the SDT200 that is capable of receiving ultrasound waves and converting them into audible sounds.

■Application example

An ultrasonic transmitter is placed inside the truck to detect ultrasonic leaks from the outside. Airtightness can be inspected. ・Installing an ultrasonic transmitter on the truck bed ・Move the ultrasonic receiver along the packing to receive the leakage of ultrasonic waves emitted from inside.
