■Averaged light intensity measurement using a dedicated LED adapter

Different measurement adapters are suitable for measuring the luminous intensity [CD] of LEDs, depending on the available spectral range (visible or ultraviolet), measurement geometry (ILED-A or ILED-B) and intended application (research or production). It will be divided. These measurement adapters incorporate a diffuser with a precision aperture of 1 cm² representing the sensitive area of ​​the detector. The entrance face of the fiber bundle is behind the diffuser and serves to couple the light into the spectrometer. This design features high light throughput and acceptable homogeneity of the detector area. Therefore, the measurement adapter LED-4xx series is suitable for low-power LEDs and short-time production tests. Additionally, for applications requiring the highest precision, we developed the LED25 for "average LED luminous intensity" measurement based on CIE127 recommendations. The LED25 is based on an integrating sphere to completely homogenize the light sensitivity across the detector area, at the expense of light throughput. The LED-4xx measurement adapter fits any test socket of the LED-5xx, LED-6xx, and LED-81x series. A tightening device is used for reproducible and precise positioning of the LED. There is also a time-saving version for use in manufacturing environments (e.g. in combination with LED sorters).
