About This Product

A self-tapping screw that can be screwed into a prepared hole in a thin steel plate, etc. by self-tapping. Also known as a hexagonal socket extra low head tapping screw, it has a thin head (head height is standardized at 1.5mm for M4 and above) and an extra low head cap so you won't have to worry about protruding even without a counterbore. Tapping screws undergo a heat treatment called "carburizing and quenching" to increase their surface hardness, and when screwed into a prepared hole, they form their own threads on the mating material and are fastened. Therefore, no nuts or screws are required. On the other hand, when tightening, the screw resistance increases and a tightening torque is required. Compared to cross recesses, hexagonal recesses do not cam out and are difficult to lick, so they can be fastened with stronger torque. Tapping type 1 (A type) has the roughest pitch and a pointed tip at 45 degrees, and is used for thin steel plates of 1.2 mm or less, wood/hardboard, asbestos, resin, etc. The two types with thick tips (B0 and B1 types) have a fine pitch and are suitable for thicker plates of 5mm or less, and the three types (C0 and C1 types) have thicker tips and the finer pitch and are suitable for thicker plates.
