The structure uses special processing technology to align the input point of the optical fiber with the center of the spherical rotating element, so even if the angle is adjusted, the input point will not shift at all. . This unique mechanism is called the "spherical gimbal mechanism" and has been patented jointly with the University of Tokyo (Patent No. 5888775).

The adjustment screw uses a fine pitch screw with extremely low backlash, which we developed with the ultra-high stability mirror mount MM1000S, and by adopting our unique soft lock mechanism (patent application 2005-352867) that provides high holding power after adjustment. , achieving high operability and long-term stability.

The Akira Furusawa Laboratory at the University of Tokyo aligned the FA1000S_θ under the conditions shown in the evaluation setup outline diagram below, and as a result succeeded in increasing the coupling efficiency to 98% (as of January 2013).
