About This Product

■Electrical failure display and electrical alarm contactFault indicators and alarm contacts are electrical. The LED (green) lights up when the failure is normal and turns off when the SPD fails or there is a power outage. For electrical failure indicators, the LED will also turn off when the specified SPD separator is activated (fuse blown) or when the SPD separator (fuse) is not installed. The alarm contact is output from the alarm contact terminal (ALM), and between c and a is a contact output (normal: OPEN, abnormal: CLOSE), and between b and c is a b contact output (normal: CLOSE, abnormal: OPEN).

The advantage of electrical alarm contacts is that they not only issue an alarm when an SPD fails, but also operate the SPD separator and output the alarm contact even when the SPD separator (fuse) is not installed. Therefore, in the unlikely event that the SPD separator operates or the fuse is not installed, it is possible to avoid situations where the SPD's overvoltage limiting function cannot be fully utilized.

■Can also be connected to the primary side of an earth leakage breakerAnnex K of IS C 5381-12:2014 stipulates that in TT systems (including Japanese power distribution systems), when connecting an SPD to the primary side of an earth leakage breaker, a voltage switching element such as a spark gap or GDT must be It is described that it is implemented. The GN-2 series can be connected to the primary side of an earth leakage breaker without any problems by installing a GDT (gas-filled discharge tube) between N and E.

■Model names that include specified SPD separators as a set have also been added.The old standard JIS C 5381-1 did not require safety in the event of an SPD short-circuit failure, so 50AF/50AT MCCBs have been mainly used for SPD separators. On the other hand, the new standard JIS C 5381-11 requires testing for safety in the event of SPD failure in combination with the SPD separator specified by the manufacturer. Therefore, when using an SPD that complies with JIS C 5381-11, it is necessary to connect the specified SPD separator. 

This time, we have added a model name that includes a specified SPD separator as a set. This set model name with the SPD separator eliminates mistakes in SPD separator selection and allows safer use.
