The AGN-2 series has a built-in SPD separator with a breaking rating of AC220V 80kA inside the SPD plug, eliminating the need for an external SPD separator. As a result, space can be saved.

This is a plug-in type consisting of an SPD plug and a base. Equipped with a mechanism to prevent incorrect insertion of the SPD plug and a mechanism to prevent it from coming off, improving reliability.
■Can also be connected to the primary side of an earth leakage breaker
Annex K of JIS C 5381-12:2014 stipulates that in TT systems (including Japanese power distribution systems), when connecting an SPD to the primary side of an earth leakage breaker, a voltage switching element such as a spark gap, GDT, etc. It is described that it is implemented. The AGN-4 series can be connected to the primary side of an earth leakage breaker without any problems by mounting a GDT (gas-filled discharge tube) between N and E.
■Electrical failure display and electrical alarm contact
Fault indicators and alarm contacts are electrical. The LED (green) lights up when the failure is normal and turns off when the SPD fails or there is a power outage. For electrical fault indicators, the LED will also turn off when the specified SPD separator operates (fuse blows) or if you forget to insert the external SPD separator (fuse).
The alarm contact is output from the alarm contact terminal (ALM), and between c and a is a contact output (normal: OPEN, abnormal: CLOSE), and between b and c is a b contact output (normal: CLOSE, abnormal: OPEN). The advantage of electrical alarm contacts is that they not only issue an alarm in the event of an SPD failure, but also provide alarm contact output even when the SPD plug is not installed. Therefore, in the unlikely event that the SPD is not installed, it is possible to remotely monitor the situation where the SPD's overvoltage limiting function cannot be achieved.
Note that the above function will perform alarm contact output even when no voltage is applied to the SPD (during a power outage), so if you do not need the alarm contact output from the SPD that occurs during power outage work, you can use the alarm contact output from the SPD during power outage work. We recommend adding a circuit to disable the output.
