About This Product

■Summary

Iodine gas is infrared inactive because it is a homonuclear diatomic molecule. Iodine gas is analyzed using absorption in the ultraviolet and visible regions (around 190nm and 520nm). This device is a long optical path cell for measuring iodine gas. The long path cell can be attached directly to your spectrophotometer. It can also be connected through fiber optics. Here we will introduce an example in which a long optical path cell with an optical path length of 1 m is directly attached to a spectrophotometer. The long optical path cell is equipped with a mantle heater to maintain a constant temperature.

This device consists of the following units. 1) Optical system for introducing light into the long optical path cell and optical system for introducing light from the cell into the spectrophotometer. 2) Long optical path cell body, heater jacket, temperature control device 3) Long optical path cell optical system adjustment mechanism 4) Housing

■Specifications and functions of each part

This device is a long optical path gas cell unit manufactured to be installed in the sample chamber of Agilent Technologies' Cary-60 visible and ultraviolet spectrophotometer. The optical path length inside the gas cell is 1,000 mm, and the capacity is approximately 800 ml. The outside of the gas cell is covered with a mantle heater jacket to control the temperature. Heat resistance is up to 200℃.
