About This Product
Traditionally, Schmidt couplings achieve compact and efficient power transmission in off-center power transmission, which was often constructed using spline shafts or universal joints. A Schmidt coupling is an off-axis coupling that uses the crank motion of the link, and the power input to one end disc is transmitted to the other end disc via the link and center disc.
Since the amount of movement of the shaft center is determined by the length of the link, this coupling not only allows power transmission with different shaft centers, but also allows for parallel movement of the shaft center during rotation.
