About This Product

■What is stepped glass?

Glass and glass can be joined by melting. However, if you attach materials with greatly different coefficients of expansion, they will break. Glass expands and contracts when it is heated or cooled. Normally, it is okay if you use a material with a difference in expansion coefficient of 5 to 6 degrees, but if you use a product with a larger difference than that, it may break. When attaching these, use tiered glass.

■Features

Low expansion stage joint glass is made from porous glass. This has the following major features compared to those made using the direct melting method. ・Easier to melt than glass made by direct melting (bonding can be done at a lower temperature). ・There is less possibility of bubbles or foreign matter being contained than glass made by direct melting. *Other model numbers are available.
