About This Product

A new gene transfer technology designed to meet the needs of cell lines. This is a non-viral method based on a unique combination of electrical parameters and cell type-specific reagents. The best Nucleofection™ conditions are determined by the individual cell type, not the substrate being transfected. This means that the exact same conditions apply for Nucleofection™ of DNA and RNA. This makes substrate switching or simultaneous DNA and RNA transfection very easy. Nucleofector® technology is non-viral, but allows for the direct introduction of DNA into nucleic acids. This gives Nucleofection™ the ability to transduce genes even into non-dividing cells such as neurons and resting blood cells. Nucleofector™ kits and corresponding optimization protocols are available on a variety of Nucleofector™ platforms for optimal gene transfer into human chondrocytes. The kit of choice for transfecting human chondrocytes in the 4D-Nucleofector™, 96-well Shuttle™ and 384-well Nucleofector™ systems is the P3 Primary Cell Kit. Use in conjunction with cell-specific protocols. The Nucleofector™II/2b device uses a human chondrocyte-specific kit.
