■Improve bursting pressure by 30-40%
Tubes equipped with CARBOGUARD have increased resistance to steam hammer and high operating pressures. For example, the burst pressure of CARBOGUARD graphite tubing at room temperature is 30-40% higher than that of unreinforced graphite tubing. This can significantly reduce the number of tube breaks in demanding applications.
■Leakage prevention function for differential pressures of 2 to 5 bar
Even if longitudinal hair cracks occur due to excessive stress, the reinforcing tube will not leak significantly up to a differential pressure of 2 to 5 bar. If a hair crack occurs, the pretensioned carbon fiber seals it and prevents process fluids from escaping uncontrollably through the crack.
Typically, heat exchangers can continue to operate without interruption until the next scheduled shutdown (e.g., for routine maintenance), resulting in shorter outage times.
■Crushing prevention
In the event that the CARBOGUARD tube breaks as a result of overstress, for example due to a pressure surge, CARBOGUARD prevents debris from flying off uncontrollably, thus reducing the risk of damage to surrounding components.
