About This Product

■What is piezo assist stage?・60x60mm table size.
・A fine-coarse manual stage with a minimum resolution of 20 nanometers and coarse movement (on the order of millimeters).
・The main application is a manual precision stage that can be easily realized in applications that require precise positioning of the table and control of minute loads (nanoindentation).
- Compact size, easy to carry, and very easy to use. It is a reasonable product that can be introduced on a low budget. (*1 nanometer = 1 billionth of a meter)
- Comes with a dedicated cable that connects the piezo assist stage and controller.

Working principle
■Device configurationThe piezo assist stage has a micrometer as the coarse movement mechanism of the stage, and a piezo assist mechanism as the fine movement mechanism on the X and Y axes. The piezo assist mechanism has our piezo actuator built-in, and its expansion and contraction mechanism enables precise positioning. The micrometer has a maximum operating range of 13 mm and can perform positioning with a resolution of 10 μm.

Piezo assist has a working range of approximately 35μm and can position with a resolution of 20nm. By using these two adjustment mechanisms together, the piezo assist stage enables precise positioning with a resolution of 20 nm over a maximum operating range of 13 mm.

■Precise positioning by coarse movement mechanismFor precise positioning using the coarse movement mechanism, rotate the micrometer knob and adjust the position according to the scale written on the meter.

■Precise positioning using fine movement mechanismPrecise positioning using the fine movement mechanism rotates the control box knob and changes the voltage supplied to the piezo actuator built into the piezo assist stage to adjust the position. Piezo actuators can control the displacement of the actuator's output section using the voltage supplied from the controller box. As a result, it is possible to control the position of the stage table at the nanometer level.
