About This Product

Iriso's FPC/FFC connector combines a ZIF type that can lock the FPC/FFC with almost no force when inserting a card, and a unique locking method, I-LockTM, to prevent cards from slipping out. There is a strong click feeling when inserting a card, which improves work efficiency and quality. There are many variations, including the Auto I-LockTM structure, which achieves both automatic assembly and high-speed transmission. It can be used in a wide range of applications, from automotive electrical components to mobile devices and cell phones. In addition, some products adopt a highly reliable two-point contact structure, and with designs that emphasize high heat resistance, we also have a lineup of high-temperature products that can be used in harsh high-temperature environments.

■New FPC/FFC connector developed from Non-ZIF connector Auto I-Lock™️

It is a product with a completely new concept that has been further developed from I-LockTM, which was an optional mechanism of the ZIF connector mentioned above, and realized by combining it with a non-ZIF structure. While retaining the good workability that was the advantage of non-ZIF connectors, this connector has realized card retention and complete insertion perception, and is compatible with various types of automation as well as being highly compatible with manual work, and trouble caused by incomplete insertion. etc. will be drastically reduced.

■ZIF connector

ZIF is an abbreviation for Zero Insertion Force, and refers to a connector that has zero insertion force, that is, no force is applied when mating the FPC/FFC to the connector. On the other hand, at the mating part between the connector and card, the terminals must have contact pressure, and the card must also be held. ZIF connectors have a locking mechanism for this purpose. There are mainly three types of locking mechanisms: slider type, front flip type, and back flip type.

■Slider type

After inserting the card into the connector, the slider is pushed in to hold down the card along with the terminals, and has a locking mechanism that maintains contact pressure and card retention. This is the earliest of the three locking methods used. It has high card retention power.

■Front flip type

This type has improved workability compared to the slider type. You can hold down the card by closing the cover. *Other product numbers are available.
