There are two main types of PC-based measurement and control systems that connect NI hardware products to a PC via USB or Ethernet. One type connects a multifunction I/O device directly to a PC, and the other type houses a signal-conditioned I/O module in a CompactDAQ chassis connected to a PC. CompactDAQ's ability to connect directly to sensors makes it a highly customizable solution.
