About This Product

■Summary

COPLEY Andersen type cascade impactor is USP (Chapter <601>) and EP (Chapter (2.9.18) A standard Andersen type cascade impactor is designed for use at 28.3 L/min. The 8 stages correspond to different parts of the human respiratory tract. The Andersen type cascade impactor is designed so that particles that collide with the collection plate of each stage are collected by the inertia of the particles riding on the airflow, and particles that do not collide flow to the next stage. It can be used with standard impactors without additional units for MDI evaluation. To evaluate DPI, place a pre-separator between the standard impactor's intake port and stage 0. Pre-separators are used to collect coarse particles such as excipients.
