About This Product
■What is subcritical processing?
It decomposes organic matter in a short time through hydrolysis in subcritical water under a high temperature and high pressure environment. The processed products can be reused as fuel, compost, feed, etc. We solve the world's waste issues and contribute to the environment, food, and agriculture.
■What is subcritical water?
Under atmospheric pressure (1 atm), water is liquid at room temperature and becomes gas when it boils in subcritical water at 100°C. However, beyond the critical point (approximately 220 atmospheres (22 MPa) and temperature 374°C), it becomes neither liquid nor gas. The water in the area above this critical point is called supercritical water, and the water in the immediate vicinity is called subcritical water.
■Hydrolytic action
The degree of ionization of water increases as temperature and pressure rise, and in the subcritical state, the concentration of H+ and OH- ions becomes much higher than at room temperature. This high concentration of H+ and OH- ions hydrolyzes organic matter and turns it into low-molecular-weight substances.
