About This Product

The Network Packet Broker Sessionmaster EXA series is a highly functional product group that enables more complex processing. Models with built-in CPU support functions such as advanced filter processing and keyword search of L5 or higher. It can support monitoring of large amounts of data from wireless/wired communication carrier networks, IDC, etc. Key features of network packet broker products

■Aggregation

It aggregates signals received from multiple TAPs and SPAN ports and supplies them to monitoring equipment. Improve operational efficiency of monitoring equipment while minimizing network configuration changes.

■Multicast (replication distribution)

Duplicates the received signal and outputs it from multiple ports. Network signals can be monitored by various devices at the same time.

■Filtering

It narrows down and extracts the packets necessary for monitoring from network communication and supplies them to the monitoring device. Deleting packets that are unnecessary for monitoring reduces the load on the monitoring device and achieves reliable and stable monitoring.

■Session-maintained load balancing distribution

This function maintains sessions and distributes the load of traffic flowing on high-speed communication segments to multiple output ports. Packets from the same session are output from the same port so that packets from the same session are not output to different destinations. You can monitor high-speed networks by effectively utilizing inexpensive low-speed monitoring equipment.

■sFlow/NetFlow information generation

Packetmaster has the ability to generate sFlow information, and Sessionmaster has the ability to generate NetFlow information*. Since the flow information necessary for monitoring can be generated from the received traffic and forwarded to the network monitoring device (Flow collector), it is possible to easily configure a flow analysis environment. *It may vary depending on the model.

■Header editing

Packetmaster is capable of editing packet headers at full line rate. Flexible usage is possible, such as changing the packet transmission destination and outputting it.
