This is a clamp for φ48.6, which is the diameter of a general single pipe for scaffolding. It has multiple names, and is also called "same diameter clamp" and "single tube clamp."
■“About the difference between orthogonal/free”
- Orthogonal is a clamp that fixes pipes at right angles (90 degrees).
-The two metal fittings that make up the orthogonal clamp are fixed and the angle between the pipes cannot be adjusted.
- If you want to freely adjust the angle between the pipes, use a flexible clamp.
■Precautions for use
・Assembling and dismantling long pipe scaffolding must be carried out by two or more people. Assembling and disassembling the product by yourself is extremely dangerous. When using a clamp, please use it within the allowable limits of clamp strength to ensure safety. Please note that clamps are not strong enough to withstand shearing loads due to their structure, so be sure to use two clamps.
・If the scaffolding pipe is supported by only one side, if force is applied to the end, a shearing force greater than expected will be generated and the orthogonal joint rivet will be destroyed, resulting in the structure not being strong enough to withstand shearing loads. Therefore, unnecessary omission or incorrect assembly of arms and braces can lead to accidents, so please fully understand the performance of the clamp and use it within its performance range.
- Tighten the clamp bolt to an appropriate torque (250kg/cm to 350kg/cm), and it is best to tighten the clamp bolt with a ratchet spanner (approximately 15cm long). Also, when using a wrench spanner, etc., it is best to tighten at a position of about 15 cm. If you tighten at the end of the wrench spanner, etc., more torque than necessary (500 kg/cm to 600 kg/cm) will be applied, which may destroy the rivet or bolt, so please be careful when tightening.
- If the clamp is dropped from a high place onto a hard ground when removing the scaffolding, it may deform and become unusable.
- When construction is complete, be sure to use a spanner to remove the clamp, as if you hit the bolt with a hammer, it will not be possible to reuse it.
