What is SineWave type AE sensor?

■Aim of SineWave type AE sensor

Have you ever been unable to monitor the deterioration of equipment or equipment or detect unexpected events due to ambient noise or temperature changes? Have you ever had difficulty processing large amounts of data for predictive diagnosis? The SineWave AE sensor is a new AE sensor with characteristics that are effective in solving these issues. By incorporating it into various facilities and equipment, we will contribute to the creation of new added value.

■Characteristics of SineWave type AE sensor

The SineWave type AE sensor is an AE sensor that outputs a sine wave in response to AE waves. By using a piezoelectric material (LiNbO3) with high resonance sharpness and a cantilever structure, it responds only at the resonance frequency and outputs a sine wave.

■Structure of SineWave type AE sensor

A single-crystal piezoelectric material (LiNbO3: lithium niobate) has a cantilever structure, and AE signals generated in a wide band are detected using four cantilevers.

■Resonance frequency of SineWave type AE sensor

For AE waves that appear in a wide band from several kHz to several MHz, the SineWave type AE sensor responds with pinpoint accuracy to four frequencies: 22, 25, 28, and 32kHz.

■What is AE wave (Acoustic Emission)?

This is a phenomenon in which when a solid deforms or breaks, the elastic energy previously stored inside the solid becomes elastic waves (AE waves) and is released to the surroundings. This AE wave is generated over a wide band in the ultrasonic region (several kHz to several MHz). Features

■Characteristics of SineWave type AE sensor

The SineWave type AE sensor has the following four features.

■1. Frequency characteristics

The 22, 25, 28, and 32kHz sine waves are sensors in frequency bands that are not easily affected by noise.

■2. Output attenuation characteristics

By outputting a long-lasting sine wave, sudden changes can be detected.

■3. Input/output characteristics

This is a wide range of linear input/output characteristics that are important for determining normality/abnormality.

■4. Temperature characteristics

Single-crystal piezoelectric material LiNbO3 is not easily affected by temperature, making it suitable for monitoring factory equipment and equipment.
