Up until now, ergometers have used an eddy current method (electromagnetic control method), but due to their structure, they cannot handle loads near 0W, and the problem is that they tend to change over time. Strength Ergo 8 uses a servo motor system to achieve accurate loads up to 600W. It also automatically adjusts the 0W load periodically.

■Achieving stress tests tailored to the patient

Athletes can perform load tests at the athlete's rotational speed, and people with low physical strength can perform load tests at low rotational speeds.

■Load that does not depend on the patient's rowing method is possible [10-110 rotations]

Even if the speed of rowing changes during exercise, the torque is controlled to achieve accurate power [W].

By achieving accurate loads under various conditions, including areas where the relationship between exercise speed and metabolism is not clear, we provide a one-step advanced testing environment.

■Need for 0W warming up

Cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPX) is widely used to determine the optimal exercise intensity for patients, such as in cardiovascular rehabilitation. The Strength Ergo 8, which can handle 0W loads, makes it easier to determine AT points of 20W or less, which was difficult with conventional ergometers. It also supports 0W warm-up, which is the CPX standard for respiratory disease rehabilitation patients.

■Smooth start function

Conventionally, when starting to row an ergometer, a load equivalent to 80W to 100W could be applied due to its eddy current structure, and for elderly people, patients undergoing acute rehabilitation, and for measuring the rise time constant of oxygen uptake, support such as turning the pedals was required for the beginning of rowing. Strength Ergo 8 can smoothly increase the load from 0W to the specified load with the smooth start function.

■Foot weight and oxygen consumption

From the passive -50W that is completely turned to the pedals, you gradually generate the energy to turn the pedals yourself. When it's 0W, I'm turning the pedal myself. You can also calculate AT by increasing the power by 10W per minute.
