■Applications

Raritan's Hybrid Rack Transfer Switch utilizes electromechanical relays and silicon controlled commutators (SCRs) to transfer power between two power sources. The result is higher performance and reliability than standard automatic transfer switches (ATS) at a lower cost than static transfer switches (STS).

■Top-level high performance in the industry

- Utilizes SCR to achieve quick switching comparable to STS, and further avoids arcing and relay welding. The hybrid design of relays and SCRs increases power efficiency and reduces heat generation by energizing the relay after grid switching. ・With 4,800 current samplings per second, a power supply switching time of 4 to 8 milliseconds is achieved. ・The PX3TS-5000 series is capable of outlet level measurement and on/off control. -The industry's only rack transfer switch that measures power consumption (wh) and supports optional environmental sensors. -Local and web browser-based remote power quality monitoring, control and alarming. -Xerus™ platform design with iX7 controller.

■Designed with maximum emphasis on reliability

- Adopts an oversized relay (48A rating) and SCR (70A rating) even for transfer switches with a rating of 16A/32A. ・Prevents output short circuit switching and eliminates the possibility of causing trouble to the second system. - Instead of one double-throw relay, which is a single point of failure, two single-throw relays are used to support reliable anti-phase switching. ・Hybrid design avoids reverse phase switching problems such as arcing. Since in-phase power feeding is not required, more flexibility is possible. - The spacing between relay contacts is set at 3.3mm (0.6mm for general changeover switch relays) to prevent arcing due to power surges. - The relay contact surface is expanded by 30%, allowing it to handle larger currents. Equipped with surge protection, field-replaceable short circuit protection, and redundant internal power supply and controller.
