■About “Insect Cell Gene Transfer/Gene Expression Observation Kit”This science teaching kit is designed to perform gene introduction into animal cells and observation of gene expression, which is a core technology of cutting-edge biological research, which has been difficult in educational settings such as high schools and junior high schools where advanced research facilities and experimental equipment are not available. In order to accurately understand the structure and function of animal cells, we need methods to directly observe organelles and intracellular proteins in living cells, in addition to methods for observing whole cells in a living state.

This educational kit contains cells, reagents, and equipment for transfecting the green fluorescent protein (GFP) gene, red fluorescent protein (DsRed) gene, and nuclear-translocated DsRed gene into cultured silkworm cells (BmN4 cells), which are animal cells, and performing fluorescence observation of the expressed proteins. This kit is for educational purposes and will only be provided to educational institutions such as high schools and junior high schools.
