About This Product

This is an LED light source with ultra-stable output for dozens of wavelengths from 265nm to 1,650nm. In addition, by replacing the output part, it can be used as an optical fiber light source (the connector is SMA or FC connector) or a light source with a lens (emission angle of 8 degrees or more). Ultra-stable output has been achieved by measuring the output light with a photodiode and creating a feedback mechanism.

■Output stability

When a high-power LED light source (on the order of 1 to 3 W) emits light, the temperature of the LED increases due to heat generation, and the light output decreases by several percent or more (depending on the wavelength). Therefore, the LED output will continue to change until the LED temperature becomes constant (for 10 minutes or more). For this reason, driving with a constant current power supply has been said to be effective for stability. However, even this drive method cannot eliminate changes in LED output due to heat. In order to keep the light output stable, it is necessary to perform feedback to change the LED voltage so that the value detected by the photodiode remains constant. Even with voltage drive, by optimizing the load resistance of the LED, the voltage becomes proportional to the current, which is no different from current drive. It is also now possible to obtain stable output with pulse drive at the same time.

■Output stability (time stability)

The output stability is 0.01% to 0.1% after a few seconds. After that, it remains constant for several tens of hours or more.
