Features of disaster prevention emergency power supply BPS

■Built-in storage battery developed specifically for disaster prevention

Portable storage batteries that are commonly sold are designed to be used constantly, so they are not designed to be used in times of disaster. The storage battery for disaster prevention is Japan's only storage battery designed and developed for use as an emergency power source in the event of a disaster.

■Number of charging devices

In the case of iPhone XS, it is possible to charge 98 devices from 0 to 100% battery level.

■Storage battery capacity

Since the depth of discharge (limit usage rate) is set to 95%, up to 1,013Wh of the 1,067Wh storage battery capacity can be used. Typical storage batteries are set at about 70%.

■Constant charging method

Storage battery cells naturally discharge about 20% per year, so if you store them for a long time without charging them, the amount of usable power will gradually decrease. On the other hand, storage batteries for disaster prevention are constantly charged, so they can always be used in a fully charged state.

■Set the rated power low

Typical storage batteries are designed to be used with electrical appliances that consume a lot of power, but they quickly run out of storage capacity. By limiting the rated output of the disaster prevention storage battery to 300W, you can charge more smartphones, etc.

■Safety design of storage batteries

The storage battery for disaster prevention uses cell type 21700 (manufactured by SAMSUNG SDI), which is lightweight but has a large capacity. The battery management system (BMS) was developed to meet constant charging and disaster prevention specifications, and is designed to be used with peace of mind.

■ Abundant USB ports

It is designed to be used as an emergency power supply and has more USB ports (14) than conventional storage batteries. In anticipation of recent trends in charging equipment, it is also equipped with a USB Type-C port.

■Be portable

Disaster prevention storage batteries may be installed with subsidies from the national or local governments, but in most cases, they must be portable. While meeting the installation requirements, the weight has been kept to about 10 kg to make it portable.
