About This Product

basic information

■Robust and slim body that contributes to longer life. Furthermore, by adopting the optical absolute method, there is no “value jump” or “zero point forgetting”.

■The sensor diagnoses its own "condition". Equipped with self-monitoring function

Self-monitoring function is supported by using the digital displacement sensor HG-S series/HG-T series in combination with the digital displacement sensor communication unit SC-HG1. sensor head

■Slim body & lightweight

Although it is a box type, it is extremely thin with a width of 11mm. Moreover, it is lightweight at about 80g. (Note 1) (Note 1): Value for 10mm type (HG-S1010□ / HG-S1110□).

■Flat bearing 2-point support structure

We have adopted a new structure in which the spindle is supported by flat bearings installed in two locations, upper and lower, to significantly increase rigidity. Moreover, unlike ball bearings, it effectively disperses the lateral load applied to the spindle, greatly reducing the risk of breakage.

■Flexible cable adopted

We use a bend-resistant cable that can be safely attached to movable jigs.

■Supports hot insertion and removal

Sensor head can be replaced while the power is on: There is no need to worry about malfunctions or damage even if you perform "hot insertion/removal" where the sensor head is replaced while the controller is powered on. The number of man-hours required for setup changes due to workpiece changes is reduced, leading to significant time savings.

■Metal guide anti-rotation structure

A metal guide is used to prevent the spindle from rotating, which requires an assembly precision of several micrometers. Unlike resin guides, it greatly reduces the risk of measurement errors and damage to the glass scale due to deterioration such as deformation and wear.

■No “price jumps” or “zero point forgetting”

The amount of movement is measured by using a high-resolution sensor to read the glass scale, which has a different slit pattern for each reading position. Even when measuring at high speeds, measurements can be made accurately without any "value jumps", and there is no need to worry about "forgetting the zero point".

■Tip shaft runout 35μm or less (typical value) (Note 2)

[HG-S1032/HG-S1050: 40μm or less (typical value)] Minimizes tip shaft wobbling that reduces measurement accuracy. Minimize variation in measurement points. (Note 2): Value calculated from the clearance between the upper and lower plain bearings.
