About This Product

The torque measurement unit HB series is the successor model of the reliable hysteresis brake torque meter TA/TB series, which has a long track record. The torque accuracy has been increased to ±0.1% of the rated torque, and the maximum rotation speed has been significantly increased to 60,000r/min for low torque models. Two types of encoder options are available for gear motor measurement, and are compatible with extremely low speed measurements of 10r/min and 5r/min. We have a lineup of 13 models with rated torques ranging from 5mN・m to 50N・m, as well as short surface plate models and models for constant temperature oven testing.

■Reliable hysteresis brake

Hysteresis brakes have a structure in which a rotor made of a highly permeable magnetic material rotates in the gap between the magnetic fields created by a tooth-shaped stator. When the magnetic flux flowing through the stator passes through the rotor, magnetic friction is created between the rotor and stator, which acts as a non-contact brake. This magnetic friction is proportional to the strength of the magnetic flux passing through the rotor, and the strength of the magnetic flux can be adjusted by the strength of the excitation current applied to the coil. Therefore, hysteresis brakes have the advantage of being able to easily adjust the braking force regardless of the rotor rotational speed. The brake of the HB series torque measuring unit is supported by a bearing on the main body frame. When a brake is applied to the rotor being rotated by the motor being measured due to magnetic friction between it and the stator, a reaction force is generated on the stator and the stator attempts to rotate. The reaction force is detected as brake torque by a load cell. Because it very statically detects only the force that causes the stator to rotate, it is less susceptible to vibration than methods that detect torque on the rotating shaft, and is a stable detection method suitable for high-speed rotation.
